Our first fashion show.... we weren’t quite sure what to expect.
This was our introduction to behind the scenes of a fashion show. After finding our place between NomD and Company of Strangers and meeting with our Atér girls we were feeling a little overwhelmed. By the time we hung our looks for the night, lined up our shoes, did a quick steam of any creases (and had a last minute thought to loosen laces for the girls quick change over) we were ready to debut.
The line up of New Zealand fashion looked incredible with bold shapes and pops of colour from Nom*D, floaty florals from Chapman and the show stopper sheer lace dress from Charmaine Reveley. Atér was not out of place, our looks were paired with pieces from the latest Hype spring/summer collection. There were many appreciative comments from the audience of fashion loving ladies and the few gents scattered throughout the crowd.
Behind the scenes things were slightly more chaotic, with the models having to run from designer to designer with quick change overs. This was a learning curve for us, but we managed to not lose any garments along the way and we can't wait to do it all again.
It was a beautiful night raising money for K9 medical detection, which the Zonta Club of Metropolitan Dunedin organised and successfully made a great contribution to this worthy cause.
